August 4, 2008 Backpack Peoria 2008 Many Peoria families breathed a little easier this weekend as Dream Center Peoria handed out roughly 2500 backpacks (across four locations) loaded with back-to-school essentials. Backpack Peoria provides a much needed financial break for many families, as school supplies add up quickly. This year's event attracted local news coverage from the Peoria Journal Star and WHOI.
